 Welcome to the cattery Ancient! Ancient is a small cattery in Salo, South-Western Finland. My prefix was registered in 2004 in FIFé and the first Ancient litter was born in August 2005. At the moment I share my home with 8 cats, five of mine and three of my roommate's. In my breeding I give every kitten all the care and attention it needs, so there will not be many litters per year. I plan all my litters thoroughly, breeding for quality, not quantity. I focus on silver Oriental Shorthairs in classic (blotched) and spotted tabby. However, as breeding is not an exact science there will occasionally be non-silver, non-agouti and Siamese kittens as well. The most important things for me in breeding are the health of my cats and kittens, the best temper and as wide gene pool as possible. In the appearance I prefer cats that look Oriental without exaggerated features. I love big size, good patterns, clear contrast, strong silver base and deep green eyes. All my breeding cats are tested negative for FIV, FeLV and microsporum canis. Cats are my friends and companions, also after they have retired from breeding and showing. I never cage my cats, they all live freely in my whole apartment taking part in my every-day life. I hope you will enjoy my site! - Senia Falck |
